TL;DR
These are the six key takeaways from all of the changes this month.
📈 Social media adoption and usage continue to grow. 60% of the worlds’ population (4.9 billion) now log into social platforms at least once per month.
👀 Social media is having a transformative impact on brand discovery. More users are turning to social instead of search to discover new products.
🎬 Reels are becoming essential for brand growth as usage and engagement climbs. Reels, both on Facebook and Instagram are showing the best organic reach of all platforms and formats right now.
📹 Don’t sleep on YouTube. YouTube Shorts now has 2 billion monthly users (double that of TikTok) and holds great opportunity for organic reach
👩💻 Take heed of the big (and positive) changes to LinkedIn and X’s algorithms. They are both heavily prioritising engagement, speaking volumes for having a clear focus on a well-defined target audience
✅ Users spend more time on TikTok than any other platform. The time spent on TikTok and the engagement rates continue to show how valuable this platform continues to be for brands
Stat of the month
👀 Brand discovery is shifting. Younger demographics are increasingly shifting to social media to discover new products and services. If you look deeper at the chart below, you start to see social media’s impact is even greater than a cursory glance would suggest.
Whilst ‘social media ads’ plays a significant role in brand discovery, you’ll also see ‘social media comments’ called out too. Note also the impact that ‘word of mouth’ has across all demographics. Social media is the way that word of mouth spreads and the way that trust, and, ultimately ‘a brand’ is built.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; social media is not a ‘channel’, it’s a business strategy.
Tip of the month
LinkedIn and X’s algorithms have gone through some big (and in my view) positive changes. The good news is that the changes underpin what we should already have been doing anyway.
Our content should be focused on consistently adding value to a specific audience and encouraging participation at every possible opportunity.
X’s updates are a little less sensible in my view, but they even more heavily prioritise replies to posts.
Chart of the month
Instagram and Facebook Reels are coming out on top in terms of organic reach, but TikTok is still winning in terms of the platform that derives the best organic engagement. This speaks to the fact the TikTok is just smarter at showing the most relevant content to the right people.

We’ve been busy building new things at Adobe. We’ve launched the new version of Adobe Express and some updates to the Content Scheduler (with much more to come).
